it's painful the way i am stripped of breath
and left longing for something to fill my chest
after just one bright moment of beauty
so fiercely i want to bring it back in
that i inhale the clouds and swoon within
at the taste of such sweet cruelty
still i stand with the sun in my eyes
waiting for my soul to drip from the sky
and to be held again in the arms of the rain
i cannot reach it though, its too far gone
blown away because it didn't belong
and breathless again i await the pain
